   I’m glad someone else out there appreciates Pam. I thought I was the only one that thought she was the cat’s meow.

   Honestly, I’d never seen her whole body. I’d only noticed that she had a Tyra like fivehead. But it’s all good. Pam is pretty tight.

   On another note, and this may be absurd so bear with me. But isn’t Pam Oliver the female version of Irv Cross, without the strange ‘do? Seriously. Remember how CBS would have Irv do sideline interviews from the old Metropolitan Stadium at -30,or send him to the top of Lambeau Field? And Irv would grin and bear it, while Pat Summerall sipped something warm (and neat)? Well, everytime I see Pam, wind gusts with a chill factor of -10 are blowing her fivehead bangs to kingdom come. And she’s a trooper, just like Irv was, telling us a fact through a frozen face. I’m just sayin’.

   Pam’s five head is a bit outrageous. But she’s a former athlete (track) which I like.

   Pam does not smile nearly as much as Irv did. I remember Irv smiling way too much and when it was not required, kinda like George Foreman on HBO boxing telecasts.

   Poor Pat Summerall. We’ll see him against during the Fox BCS coverage. Flipping the dial the other day and came across him on the 700 club.

   Speaking of CBS Sports and female sportscasters, broadcasters, etc…. me and the fellas agreed that Phyllis George is about as BAD as it gets. No one can really compare to her.

   It was Irv’s part that made him smile so much. NO brother in America had a part in his head like Irv Cross’. That part was as much an iconic statement for Irv as the California Curl Greg Gumbel used to rock.

   As for the worst broadcaster on earth, I have to go with Mark “My Hip-Hop References are all five years to late” Jones. The brother tries hard, but he’s a Harriet Tubman brother, you know, from Canada. I feel like inviting him over to the house for an immersion session. It would be off the heezee, as MJ would say.

   Gumbel is from Chicago. You can’t put that curl on California.
   The curl and lucious locks which were a product of California, can best be seen on Ice Cube circa 1989. Every dude in my middle school/high school had that sweet look.

   Mark Jones… yes. I am glad someone else brought that up. Dude is goofy. He reminds me of my very nice, non-malicious, but awkward Nigerian roomate my first year in college with his misapplication of Hip-Hop references.

   He was at his worst when he would be doing the NBA show on ESPN, before they had the NBA contract. (I’m forgetting the name of that show now.)

   He would sign off with him doing a fadeaway jumper, or pump fake in a chair. So it looked like a dude trying to put a move on someone that was trying to block him from throwing a piece of paper in the trash.

   In sum, he’s really corny. Not like Clyde Frazier on MSG telecasts corny, because that’s funny, but corny as in he’s nerdy, because he’s trying his hardest to be cool.

   Um folks what these guys did is an afront to the profession. Making comments about a fellow reporter is crass. It is reprehensible when someone makes comments about another colleague that reduces him/her to no more than a sexual object. No doubt these same individuals would never have the courage to reveal themselves to her.

   Um… fellow reporter? I’m not a reporter, nor are many of us on here.

   Would we want our sister or daugther treated this way? No.
   Did we applaud these guys behavior? No.
   Can we discuss like gents whether Pam is attractive? Yes.
   Is she? Yes. Very much so.

   Chill out. Lighten up.

    Greetings Mr Johnson:
    This is a great blog that you’ve put out and it’s refreshing to finally read the ‘World of Sports” from a black perspective (Your Savoy work was knda’ hot as well but brother, you need a new editor…BADLY!! I was just going over the ‘Pam Oliver’ section (again) and within it you have too many misspelled words and/or words used in the wrong context.
    I’m sure you’ll agree that you’ve worked too hard to get where you are to have your writing marred by these minor fundamental errors.
    Keep up the good work.

    I get sick and tired of people talking about these women reporters. They have never played the game,so their comments mean absolutely nothing to a real male sports fan and ex-athlete.

    I think that Pam is a great sportscaster and a fine looking woman! I watch some games just because she is going to be on the side-lines. If I ever get to Georgia I would love to look-up the two most hottest women in the U.S. that being Pam Oliver and Robin Meade!

    glad somebody notices how corny mark jones is. he covered a mens college basketball skills competition, and he was the guy interviewing all the players. every single interview, he made some awful corny joke and you could see the players thinking “what a clown”. his usual comments would include something like, “wow bro you got more flavor than ben and jerry’s”. and with his goofy smile, it only makes it so corny that you cringe.

    Pam is the most gorgeous black women i’ve seen in awhile on tv. I mean she sets the standerd for what a real black woman should look like. She isn’t trying to sound or look white shes just being her self. Intelligence over rides her never playing to game to broadcast the game. Look if we really want to be honest fellas most of us have never played professional ball either but we still watch it and judge it just as she does for her job. You don’t have to play it to cover it just know what the hell you are talking about. If she follows the game the way shes been doing since the 80’s then she can cover the sport until she dies as far as i’m concerned. Oh i forgot it’s unprofessional to lustfully place her body online like that, but as a man i going to look she’s beautiful and i’m glad to see her on tv covering games holla.

    I love Pam Oliver (even more now that I’ve seen the rest of her body). I’m sorry but women have to realize that their brains are important to men but the station does need to realize it could capitalize on Pam’s body. Get her on more sidelines in the hot places where she needs to wear less instead of all the games with the polar bear coats.

    Whether anyone (man or woman) wants to admit it or not, to really be credible as a sports announcer, you NEED to have played the game at an organized level (high school, college and beyond), being “educated and smart” don’t mean jack if you don’t know the best call to make on a 3rd and 1 against a 3-4 defense on the left hash mark against bump and run and a cover 2. ALL the notes inthe world mean nothing against REAL experience. Pam may be a former track star and have a tight body (the horse mouth is a turn-off), but Pam ain’t never strapped on the shoulder pads a down in her life. Same goes for fakes like Greg Gumbel, Joe Buck and other “non-athlete” announcers. We want credibility in the booth, we don’t tune in because of the announcers, we want to see the game, it’s icing on the cake if you have announcers who know what da hell they are talking about, which is why Troy Aikman, Cris Collinsworth (yeah, he’s about as exciting as Saltines), Tiki Barber, Jerome Bettis, Dan Marino, etc., will continue to dominate and the eye-candy sideline reporters will stay right where they are, on the sidelines. Sorry, call me a knuckle-dragger or whatever, but you need credibility when announcing sports (especially football), and credibility is only gained from having played or coached. PERIOD. It is what it is.

    Pam you rock. I played high school volleyball with Pam Oliver at NIceville High School in Niceville Florida. She is the real deal, genuine and beautiful. Melinda Willingham

    Pam oliver is a strong young black woman and very a good sports reporter. I knew her as a young lady at Eglin AFB, FL. Pam and my daughter ran track together at Niceville High School. If you read this Pam, My wife use to take you guys to most of your track meets.

    I bet she won’t ever wear another pair of tight jeans to work again. For a woman in her mid 40s she is well put together. She’s worked hard to achieve her role and now one shot of her butt is all anybody can talk about now. It’s a shame. As a guy I can appreciate the imagery and like the rest of America will be waiting eagerly for another more clear shot.
