Saint? Indeed. Son? Not if he can help it.
Most players would do anything to defend mom’s good name. Then there’s Drew Brees. The Saints QB wants nothing to do with mom. At least not his mom’s political campaign.
Mina Brees, an attorney in Austin, TX, is running for a seat on the state’s 2d District Court of Appeals. The Democrat ran a commercial featuring her two sons, including Drew, who was wearing the uniform of his former team, the San Diego Chargers. Yesterday he made her edit him out of the ad. “I think the major point here is that my mother is using me in a campaign, and I’ve made it known many times I don’t want to be involved,” he said.
“Nonexistent” is the word he used to describe his relationship with his mother. It allegedly crumbled six years ago when he refused to hire her as his agent.
